Allyssa Brand-Bey is a poet and communicator from Cleveland, OH, who transforms life into words to promote collective healing. She brings a professional edge to her creative process, backed by an M.A. in Communication from Johns Hopkins University and a B.A. in Journalism from Cleveland State University. Allyssa’s work focuses on empowering the unseen and using expressive poetry to foster a deeper connection to the world. Above all, she is driven by a passion for human connection and the belief that no one should go unconsidered. With a deep-seated belief that writing is a tool for liberation, she crafts expressive verse designed to amplify the voices of the unseen.

Writing is home away from home for me. It is free therapy that provides me with a thrill. It’s self expression, reflection, and a way to connect people together. Writing is something that builds community and confidence. I write for enjoyment but also for the emotion, experience, happiness, and peace it can bring others. We all deal with silent battles and sometimes need the words to express those feelings. That is what I hope my writing can bring to others. Reading should be fun and encourage critical thinking and emotion.
